What's Been Happening?
Hi there everyone,
Sorry for my slackness in everything and most of all, sorry for such a loooonggg history post! And it hasn't even been finished... well, I hope to write the next part soon, perhaps the more special part, about Jane's reign and death and reveals her strong faith very strongly. Anyway, we'll get to that in time... briefly I'll say some of the things I've been up to. I've been writing lots of e-mails and letters this holiday, and did a little tiny bit of writing though tomorrow is my last big writing day I hope :). I got to bring down my summer clothes even though the weather is far too cold to dress in the bright summery blouses and skirts that I found in my 'upstairs' wardrobe! I've even got to give the bathroom a good scrub-down (the shower cupboard was due for a good scrub). So... yeah, the other thing is I broke my E string on the violin this afternoon!!!! Ugh!!! My teacher will lend me her old string tomorrow Lord willing until I can buy a new one, but that way I couldn't practice any of my pieces... well, is there anything else to say? Well, not really...OH! I got to make a 'grab-my-button' (check on the right-hand side for the blog design). I always thought them so nice and puzzled over how they did it. Today I got to do it at last, though of course it doesn't have much use right now, my blog not being an open blog... but oh well... I was just happy to do it :). Lastly, here are a few photos I captured on our camera from my wanderings all over the place, but the camera has been doing some weird tricks... and I couldn't really get it to take many photos which was a pity because I got to go outdoors the other week and had opportunity to take sooo many shots... oh well!

A spider's web... if you don't know what this is! :) |
And here is an "interview" that I made up, using many of those "blog giveaways" QAs around different blog sights... if you like it, try it on your blog, though I don't promise any giveaways :). I told you, this post is very random... :)
What are two songs that describe you? "Joy to the World" by Charles Wesley :), and "I've got the joy, joy, joy down in my heart" are ones that bare my name, and generally my temperament :), or at least how I'm trying to be.
What color(s) dominate(s) your wardrobe? purple, red, pink, blue, etc...
How do you normally do you hair? a number of styles, depending on the occasion: ponytail, two plaits, loose hair with the tops strands of my hair gathered at the sides of my hair in braids like the medieval style seen done on Lucy in Prince Caspian movie, and on special occasions I put curls on my hair :)
Do you prefer milkshakes or smoothies? smoothies!
Do you like the color pink? yes... it is so girlish :)
What is your favorite flower? I love all flowers, but roses are just BEAUTIFUL and I love violets and lilies as well.
How many states have you been to? two I think... NSW and QLD :)
What is your favorite thing about June? well, there is my dad and sister Mary's birthday, that we're half-way through the year, it is cold enough to wear my favourite jumpers and woolly coats and scarfs, the weather is generally fair and beautiful though very cold...
Fresh or saltwater? fresh to drink, saltwater to swim in!
What literary or movie heroine(s) do you admire? Would you want to meet any of them in real life? Why or why not? What character traits do they possess that you like/dislike? If you are talking about fictional characters, I'd say I admire Lucy Pevensie from the Chronicles of Narnia, Mary Ingalls from the Little House on the Prairie, Pollyanna from the book and movie, and hmmm... let me think! There are some other characters... someone like Erwyn from Sir Bentley and Holbrook Court. I would love to meet Lucy Pevensie :). She is so sweet and trusting in Aslan! I know I'd feel at ease with her :), and I'd also love to meet Pollyanna... her joyfulness of spirit and 'gladness' will be so refreshing, and she's always looking at life from a "the cup is half-full" prism! I'd love to meet Mary as well... she's so brave through hardships! Erwyn is also a lovable character that I know I'd like to meet... she's got such a merciful heart, and beauty of spirit.
Skirts or jeans? definitely skirts! They make me feel a lot more feminine!
Flipflops, bare feet, or heels? bare feet :p
Are you a squeamish person? me? Squeamish? NO! Well, yes, kinda... I hate spiders, mice,
What type of music do you like? Any music that glorifies the Lord, I love. I love classical, folk, country, epic and romantic music... I love oldy hymns and good modern, Christian songs like Graham Kendrick's albums etc that are not jazz or hype... I also LOVEEEEE epic movie music soundtracks...
An embarrassing moment: hmm... lets think... trying (rather spluttering and blushing) to tell a story to someone and they just don't get it... etc...
Traveling: where would you want to go? Rome and Israel (so I can see first hand what I'm writing about in Crown of Life), England, Ireland and Scotland, Switzerland, Germany (more or less Europe and the UK) maybe America to meet some pen-pals I've made, and if it is safe one day the home of my birth, Egypt. Pretty vast, eh? I used to imagine going all over the place when I was younger... now I'm just happy where I am, where God put me right now! :)
2. What is your favorite music CD right now? Hum! Live Recordings, Vol 1, Sons of Korah band probably? I listen to lots of things from lots of places actually!
1. If you had to choose between living on a desert island or tropical rainforest for the rest of your life, which would you choose? Tropical rainforst of course!! Both Swiss Family Robinson and Robinson Crusoe survived well in a tropical forest island... I've not heard many adventure stories about people surviving on a desert island where you could be burnt down by the sun and die out of thirst... No thank you, the rainforst for me, even though I'd have to battle monsoons, snakes, jungle life... ugh... isn't this getting a bit silly?
4. How much do you like notebooks? Is it mild, or are you absolutely obsessed with them? I LOVE notebooks... I jot down all kinds of things on it....
9. Would you be up to singing a solo in front of a thousand people? no thanks! Not to thousands at least, maybe a small congregation or something... but thousands?
10. What colors look best on you? bright, summery colours I think, though dark classic go nicely too.
Describe your "dream wedding location." A little country church with roses outside and a flower-covered arch and a beautiful garden park or field for the reception . <3
11. If you had a different name, what would it be? I love the name 'Joy'... but ...
perhaps...
Lucy (or Lucia)
Emily
Esther
Bethany
Cassia
Hadassah
Heather
Irene
Jerusha
Lousia
Madelyn
something fancy like that :), and a name with more than just 3 letters...:P
How about... Theodora?
What is the verse the Lord has spoken to you this week? I felt the Lord speak to me in comfort and strength through the verse in Isaiah 49:15-16... “Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; your walls are continually before Me."
Well, that's all for tonight. I want to apologize for such a careless and rambling post... I guess I'm kind of busy!!! Yes, even in holidays!! But it is good to take with us that verse in Isaiah... to know that He has not forsaken us, nor will He ever will, but has inscribed us on the palms of His hands! Thank you, Lord Jesus!
God bless you all tonight. In His unfailing love,
~Joy

Hello, Jessica,
ReplyDeleteI sent you an invitation so you should be able to comment now. You'll have to check that though first. About the posts... which post did you read and which one did you mean was long? Did you actually get to read the History one yet? Don't worry if you didn't, my sister didn't herself yet though I'd be so encouraged if you did. Thanks for your encouragement though!
God bless, love
Joy
Dearest Joy,
ReplyDeleteIt was lovely to hear a bit about how your holidays have been! It is pleasant to do those holiday tasks... I always enjoy bringing out the summer clothes and rearranging things, too! Sorry to hear about the E string :).
I"m glad to hear that you have had nice holidays... I hope you enter this new school term fully refreshed and ready to learn again :).
God bless you, dear sister!
Love Maddy
Dearest Maddy,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your sweet comment! Yes, it is good to do holiday tasks like washing clothes, bring down the summer stuff, (and rearranging as you said). :( I probably didn't enjoy THAT part of my holidays, snapping my E string that is :), but I learnt from it, which was really great!!
Again I just have to say how I enjoyed our time at your home yesterday, Maddy. Thank you so much for everything (the food, the walk was lovely), but especially for your love and friendship and just fellowshiping together in the Lord! I am just so blessed!
Be blessed in the Lord, dear sister too.
Love in Christ,
Joy
